It continues…

On the move…

Bevin, literally during landing… Early morning.

Hey, this looks familiar.

Gray skies make me happy…

Everyone in texas complains when the sky looks like this, but I love it!

Was interesting to be back in Portland for the afternoon. At one point we were walking through the name neighborhood we lived in for 10 years and I had realized that I wouldn’t choose to live there now. It’s changed so much, and not for the better in many ways…

Anyway, we got 5 hours of sleep, and then on the road again!

Apparently the safety briefing was interesting… Either that or the fact that it’s 5:30 am means, brains aren’t awake yet…
What airport is this even? I’ve lost track.
We’re on the big-kids plane now!

And now, having slept for 5 hours, and been up for 6.5 hours, the goal is to sleep for 5 hours. We’ll see if it works.

The very back row of a 777ER, we’ve got our own 2 person row!

See you wherever we wake up!

Around the world…

Where in the world are Josh and Bev?

Grizzly Peak, but hard to see the grizzly head from here.
And now the rocks of Radiator Springs
Whole paper dollars is the springs? Inflation has hit Radiator Springs hard apparently…
Grizzly River Rapids and hot springs!
It should be getting easier to guess…
The ferris wheel LED programming is fun. Kinda mesmerizing… Still photo doesn’t really convey it…
That’s right, we’re at the World of Color! You guessed it!

Unusually abrupt…

Bevin isn’t one to let a little thing like landing interrupt a good nap.

Bevin, upon landing: well that was a little rough.

Me: well, it’s a small airport, we used the whole runway.

Bevin looking out the window as we turn off the runway, already at the far end: ah.. Wow. I forgive them then.

Somewhere sunny with blue sky!

Going somewhere…

The cat is not going… But she sure thinks she wants to.
Fast food breakfast sandwiches are how you know Bevin is in vacation mode.
The traditional “to the sky” picture.
What glory, a mostly empty plane… A rare treat indeed.

Let’s see where we end up!

Right back where we started

Apparently I forgot to actually press publish on this one on Sunday. Whoops. Better late than never!

Don’t worry, we’ll put him under the seat to stop the screaming as soon as we start taxiing.
This tablet holder innovation is excellent. If more planes have this I may start bringing a tablet for flights! Nine nine!
Feeling the familiar heat already.
That’s right, E11! I don’t think I’ve ever flown out of a different gate at DFW. Maybe if I flew somewhere other than PDX/SEA…
Hard to tell who missed who more.
Didn’t even get the seltzer can open before the nap began. Guess we weren’t quite caught up after all… 😂

Off to unpacking and laundry.

Not over yet!

At the airport ready to head home, but apparently vacation isn’t over yet, Bevin needed her Portland breakfast sandwich and a coffee!

The sausage sandwich from Henry’s is the right choice. I made the wrong choice.

Where we have room to PUT these things, considering yesterday’s caloric input. Bamboo Sushi has, hands down, the best burger in Portland. Also great sushi. And then there was Dot Sugar.

The “waffle”.
See? Actual waffle chunks! Somewhere under all that tasty chocolate…

Back on the exercise bike ASAP when we get home I think. But for now, once more unto the skies dear friends, once more!

35

Been up for going on 36 hours now, minus about 3 hours of napping according to my watch. Just…. Another… 45 minutes… Until… Sleep….

Not all of us made it though.

Time zones and red-eye flights suck. But we should be back on schedule by tomorrow.

The scenic route

There’s a strange blob person in the seat next to me…
Hei Hei doesn’t know he’s flying. It’s for the best, people are trying to sleep.
Sunrise over the ocean.
Seattle version of outdoor airport is less fun, but still fun!
We took a slight detour to get a great view!
Don’t get a betterview unless you’re in a helicopter!
Where are we going guys?

One thing that’s striking about flying over St. Helens after Kilauea is how small St. Helens seems. An odd feeling!

I wonder if we’ll survive today without naps.
